Collaboration, creativity and excellence in implementing the comprehensive Clover Island restoration and revitalization plan has earned Port of Kennewick and its partners the 2023 Governor’s Smart Partnership Award. Port of Kennewick partnered with the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Washington State Recreation & Conservation Office, Benton County and City of Kennewick.

At its February 14 commission meeting, Port of Kennewick honored James Cox (right) as a champion in the revitalization of Kennewick’s Historic Waterfront and recognized him with their 2022 Friend of the Port award. Commission President Skip Novakovich shared that the port team is proud of the work James is doing and wanted to honor him.
