Under the proposed plan, The Willows, located between Clover Island and historic downtown Kennewick, is the site identified for Columbia Basin College’s proposed Culinary Arts Institute. The Willows will offer a mix of both commercial and residential with areas that could accommodate restaurants, cafes, shops, art studios, hotel, day spa, other complementary commercial enterprises, and open public spaces.
The Willows site redevelopment preparation was years in the making and involved clean-up support from groups throughout the community.
With that cleanup complete the paved pathway and nearby pond have been transformed into an inviting area for visitors and wildlife alike.
Parcels are available for sale or ground lease for private-sector commercial investment, which could include restaurants, specialty food shops or retail businesses.
