The Willows is part of the 15.8 acre Columbia Drive Urban Revitalization Area nearby the Columbia River in the City of Kennewick’s historic downtown. The Port, City of Kennewick, Benton County have partnered to transform the property.

As development at Columbia Gardens Urban Wine & Artisan Village advances, it will pave the way for construction of Columbia Basin College’s proposed 20,000‐square‐foot Culinary Arts Institute, as well as other retail, commercial and residential development.

The Willows Plans

Under the proposed plan, The Willows, located between Clover Island and historic downtown Kennewick, is the site identified for Columbia Basin College’s proposed Culinary Arts Institute. The Willows will offer a mix of both commercial and residential with areas that could accommodate restaurants, cafes, shops, art studios, hotel, day spa, other complementary commercial enterprises, and open public spaces.

Redevelopment Progress

The Willows site transformation is underway and recent work includes installation of road and pathways and basic infrastructure. Parcels are available for sale or ground lease for private-sector commercial investment, which could include restaurants, specialty food shops or retail businesses.
