Vista Field Redevelopment Groundbreaking Event

Kennewick, WA – On Monday, April 22, 2019 at 10:00 a.m., Port of Kennewick, City of Kennewick, and Benton County elected officials, community leaders, and general citizens will gather for a ceremony to initiate construction of the infrastructure work required to transform Vista Field into an urban town center for the region. The ceremony site is located on the southeast side of the former airfield, near the intersection of West Deschutes Avenue and West Okanogan Avenue, at 6600 W. Deschutes Avenue, Kennewick, Washington.

Why:              Initiate transformation of the 103-acre former-airfield into an “urban town center” for the region

In March, Port of Kennewick’s Board of Commissioners awarded a contract to Total Site Services for $4,905,056.64 (plus applicable taxes) to construct the Phase One roadways, utilities, sidewalks, streetscaping, lighting, commercial plaza, and a linear park with water features. This project will open nearly 20 acres and create access across the former airfield connecting from W. Deschutes Avenue to W. Grandridge Boulevard. The port anticipates that shovel-ready parcels will be available for private-sector development spring 2020.
