Groundbreaking for Columbia Gardens Urban Wine & Artisan Village

Kennewick, WA – On Monday, May 9, 2016, at 11:00 a.m., Port of Kennewick and City of Kennewick elected officials; Benton PUD, Frontier Communications, and wine industry representative; community leaders; and general citizens will gather for a ceremony to initiate construction of the Columbia Gardens Urban Wine & Artisan Village in historic downtown Kennewick. The Wine Village site is located on the Columbia River interior waterfront, near the Cable Bridge and directly across the street from Zip’s, at 421 E. Columbia Drive, Kennewick Washington.

On Tuesday, April 26, 2016, Port of Kennewick’s Board of Commissioners awarded a bid to Big D’s Construction of Tri-Cities, Inc. for $277,655 (plus applicable taxes) for earthwork and installation of utilities for Columbia Gardens Phase 1. The site work will begin May 9 and conclude no later than August 26, 2016; following completion of that project, City of Kennewick will install streetscape infrastructure and the wine effluent treatment system; and this fall Port of Kennewick will bid the building construction.
